Le 25 mai, La princesse Kako a assisté à une cérémonie commémorative en hommage aux morts de guerre au cimetière national de Chidorigafuchi, à Chiyoda, Tokyo. Les restes de 193 morts de guerre non identifiés y ont été inhumés, portant le total à 371 167.
